Someone thinking about adoption as an option after finding out she's pregnant

Can You Help Me Place My Child for Adoption?

If you are facing an unexpected pregnancy, adoption is a viable option for you to consider. While Moore Options Pregnancy Center cannot directly help you place your child for adoption, we can help you confirm important details about your pregnancy, refer you to reputable adoption agencies, and give more information about what the adoption process entails.

What Kinds of Adoption are Available?

Pursuing adoption lets you create a plan that fits your preferences, including choosing the adoptive family and deciding the level of contact you want. There are three main types of adoption:

  • Open Adoption: The most common in the U.S., open adoption allows you to maintain direct communication and potentially build an ongoing relationship with the adoptive family and your child. (In Texas, open adoption agreements are not legally enforceable.)
  • Semi-Open Adoption: A mediator, such as an attorney or agency, facilitates the sharing of updates between you and the adoptive family, offering a balance of connection and privacy.
  • Closed Adoption: All identifying information is sealed by the court, and there is no contact between you and the adoptive family.

In many cases, pregnancy-related medical bills and living expenses may be covered by the adoptive family.

Confirm Important Details About Your Pregnancy

While we are not directly involved in adoption placement, we offer no-cost services that may affect available options. In addition to lab-quality pregnancy testing, we offer ultrasounds following a positive test, which can help you confirm:

  • Gestational Age: Confirming your pregnancy’s age will provide you with a timeline as you consider making an adoption plan.
  • Pregnancy Location: By confirming the location of your pregnancy, you can verify whether or not the pregnancy is ectopic. An ectopic pregnancy cannot continue normally and requires immediate medical attention.
  • Pregnancy viability: With an ultrasound, you’ll also learn if the pregnancy is still progressing by detecting a fetal heartbeat or whether a miscarriage has occurred.

You deserve compassionate support every step of the way, and that’s what we’re here for. Whether you have questions about adoption, need help confirming your pregnancy, or simply need a safe space to think things through, our caring team is ready to walk alongside you. All of our services are no-cost and confidential.
